COVID-19: Your health & our safeguards at KCHWC

A virus cell with text, COVID-19

March 25, 2020

Dear Kambeitz Chiropractic Health & Wellness Center P.C. Family,

Governor Polis ordered a lockdown for the State of Colorado in response to the COVID-19 pandemic that will be in effect beginning Thursday March 26, 2020. As a healthcare clinic we are in the exemption category as an essential business and able to remain open in order to care for our patients that are in acute pain or discomfort. We will continue to run on a modified schedule and taking all the necessary precautions as outlined by the Colorado Department of Health. Please call to schedule prior to coming to the clinic, as this will enable us to be able to limit the number of patients in the clinic at any given time and avoid unnecessary contact with other patients.

Therefore, if you are experiencing acute pain/discomfort, a physical injury, or trauma, we have a doctor and support staff available to aid in your treatment. As much of the Colorado workforce has moved to working from home, we are happy to talk with you and answer any of your questions regarding your home workstations to limit the physical stressors on the body and prevent neck and back discomfort. Of course if you are experiencing pain, we are still here to help. If you are experiencing any fever or flu like symptoms, we ask that you please contact your primary healthcare physician.

Yours in Good Health,

Dr. Jim Kambeitz

Dear Kambeitz Chiropractic Health & Wellness Center P.C. Family,

You are undoubtedly receiving emails daily, as concern grows about the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in our area and beyond. Rest assured that KCHWC continues to care deeply about your health and wellness. We are writing to let you know the steps implemented in our office. We have been and will continue to closely monitor this situation, being responsive to any guidance provided by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) and other prominent state and local public health agencies.

Our mission has always been about optimizing your health and wellness. At this time, we recommit our practice to this guiding principle with your best interests in mind - those of our patients, our staff, and our extended community as a whole.

As a medical facility, we are held to a higher standard of safeguarding patients. Kambeitz Chiropractic Health & Wellness Center P.C. has always had standard practices to safeguard against the spread of germs. We have developed an integrated plan to safeguard your health while in our office with the information we have as of today, and that may change as new information becomes available. Everyone here is on alert and exercising appropriate measures around prevention. In addition to our regular daily and nightly office cleaning, we have started a new regiment.

  • Several times throughout the day, the office staff is disinfecting and cleaning all points of contact and surfaces including doorknobs, chair handles, chiropractic tables, computers, check-in kiosks, faucets, etc.
  • Our trainers are disinfecting the gym equipment, including the gym mats, several times throughout the day and after each use. We are limiting the number of participants in any gym session, so please make sure to call the front desk to schedule your session. We ask you to partner with us, specifically in the gym by using our disinfecting cleaner bottles and paper towels before touching weights, handles, and gym equipment that you use in the training center. As always, feel free to wear workout gloves should you prefer. These steps are the way we can ensure that you are protected while getting the exercise we all need to help manage stress, particularly at this time.
  • Our massage therapists always use clean sheets and towels for each client. Linens are cleaned and disinfected between clients. The therapists properly wash their hands before and after each massage with disinfecting soap. Myo bay tables continue to be wiped down and cleaned after every use, as has always been the standard.
  • As you have seen, we have also placed multiple bottles of germ-killing hand sanitizer throughout the office for our clients and staff to use. The doctors and staff are thoroughly washing their hands frequently or using hand sanitizer.

We remain conscious that all of us should cover our mouths with our arm, not our hand when coughing or sneezing. If you are not comfortable shaking hands or hugging, we understand, and just let us know.

Your health and safety are always of our utmost concern at Kambeitz Chiropractic, and we are taking what's happening seriously. In addition to the above-stated safety measures, the most important thing you can do is keep yourself healthy. Besides the above hygienic practices, a properly functioning immune system will keep you healthy. You can achieve this by...

  • sleeping 7-8 hours a night,
  • getting chiropractic adjustments regularly (which has clinically been shown to boost your immune system),
  • continuing your exercise routine,
  • eating a balanced diet (especially lots of dark greens),
  • taking nutritional supplements (namely Vitamins A, D and C as well as a good probiotic),
  • staying hydrated by drinking lots of water,
  • lowering your stress level by focusing of what you have control over and what you are grateful for in the midst of this crisis.  Meditation and guided visualization can help to lower your stress level or help with stress management.

Please consider a renewed commitment to these important steps at this time, even if they are not yet part of your healthy habits.

Obviously, our first concern is the health and safety of our patients. Please call the office prior to your appointment if you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms before showing up for an appointment at our clinic.

Please call our office or speak with one of us if you have questions about this information or what you and your family can do to stay healthy and keep a strong immune system.   We look forward to helping you stay safe and keep you pain-free and healthy!

Thank you,

Dr. Jim Kambeitz
