Teaming Up for Optimal Health
Most chiropractors agree that relieving symptoms is often the easiest part of care. If treatment stops once pain is reduced, there is a much greater chance that the condition will return. To help prevent symptoms from coming back, continued care is important—even after you start feeling better.
During the corrective/restorative phase of care, you typically won’t need adjustments as frequently as in the initial phase. Depending on your individual needs, you may also begin specific exercises and stretches, either in the office or at home, to support healing and improve long-term results.
It’s normal to experience mild flare-ups from time to time during this phase. These do not mean that treatment isn’t working—your body is still healing and adapting. The length of this phase varies based on the severity of your condition and how long it has been present, and may last anywhere from a few months to a couple of years.
