Laying the Foundation for Lasting Health
Chiropractic care is much like building a house. For the structure to be strong, stable, and long-lasting, each step must happen in the proper order. A house built without a solid foundation will eventually fail, no matter how well the walls or roof are constructed.
The same principle applies to your body. For your body to heal fully and function at its best, care must follow a thoughtful, structured plan. Chiropractic care is designed to progress through specific phases, each building upon the last to create lasting results—not just temporary relief.
What to Expect from Your Care
Phase 1: Relief Care
If you are experiencing pain or discomfort when you begin care, the initial focus is to reduce symptoms and improve mobility. During this phase, care is directed at decreasing inflammation, relieving tension, and restoring proper movement so you can begin feeling better as quickly as possible. Depending on the severity and duration of your condition, it is common to receive care 2–3 times per week for approximately 4–12 weeks.
Phase 2: Corrective / Restorative Care
Once symptoms are under control, care shifts toward correcting underlying structural and functional issues. During this phase, muscles, ligaments, and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, helping to stabilize your spine and reduce the likelihood of future injury. Corrective care often involves 4–8 visits per month for 6–24 months, depending on your overall health, lifestyle, and the complexity of your condition.
Phase 3: Wellness Care
After your body has stabilized and healed, ongoing wellness care helps maintain progress and prevent future problems. These periodic visits support spinal alignment, nervous system function, and overall well-being—allowing you to stay active, healthy, and resilient. Wellness care typically involves 1–4 visits per month, tailored to your goals, activity level, and lifestyle.
